Waiata

The Waiata I found that I like the most would probably have to be Te Aroha because it sounds calm and relaxed and is not really loud. It is a song about love, peace and faith for everyone. Te Aroha really just sounds and feels peaceful without having to know the english translation.

Comment below telling me your favourite Waiata and why.

  1. Hi Jack!

That does sound like a really relaxing waiata, I think that the translation is really nice too.
It sounds like the kind of song you would fall asleep to and have the most peaceful sleep.
I think one of my favourite waiata is Pokarekare Ana: http://www.rotoruanz.com/media/media-releases/stories-and-articles/pokarekare-ana-the-love-story-of-hinemoa-and-tutan

We sang this song in school but I didn't know the background behind the song until recently on a visit to Rotorua.
I like the story and I think it gave me a bigger appreciation for the song.

Thanks for sharing your waiata Jack!
